OUR VISION

Care, Not Control demands a better, more just world for all young people, and especially Black and brown youth. Our vision to build a world that is free from state-sanctioned harm is as follows:

  • Place a moratorium on building or re-opening youth facilities. We call on lawmakers to immediately close or stop the reopening of juvenile detention facilities and youth placement centers. 
  • Do not treat youth as if they are adults.
  • Reinvest public dollars in community-based alternatives and public safety that does not rely on policing or incarceration.
